Córdoba hunting season begins with high trophy expectations

The big game hunting season in Córdoba, including monterías, ganchos, and batidas, is scheduled to begin on October 17. The sector holds significant social and economic importance for the province.

Asaja Córdoba reports that the incidence of Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHE) remained minimal during the summer, meaning livestock are in good sanitary condition. Due to abundant spring rains and summer pastures, deer and fallow deer trophies are expected to be slightly superior to last season.

Regarding the market, game meat prices remain low. Recent market data shows deer meat at approximately 2.20 euros per kilo, while wild boar meat is around 0.80 euros per kilo. The organization also noted the unstoppable expansion of the wild boar population.
