Córdoba launches heritage cemetery tourism circuit and first International Painting Prize

The provincial tourism agency of Córdoba introduced the "Camino Turístico de Cementerios Cordobeses," a new cultural route that links historic cemeteries across the province. The launch took place at the Museum Tamburini during the XV Jornadas Argentinas de Gestión y Valoración Patrimonial de Cementerios and was led by Darío Capitani, president of Agencia Córdoba Turismo. The circuit offers guided tours and interpretive programs aimed at preserving and showcasing funerary heritage as open‑air museums, strengthening community identity and expanding tourism experiences.

In parallel, the Córdoba City Council announced the inaugural International Painting Prize, a competition open to artists worldwide. The call invites works created after 2020, with specifications on size, weight and material, and seeks to promote contemporary artistic creation while positioning Córdoba as a cultural reference. Submissions are to be filed electronically through the council’s online portal.

Both initiatives reflect a broader effort by local authorities to diversify cultural offerings and attract visitors and creators to the region.
