Omar Ludueña detained following sexual abuse allegations in Córdoba

Omar Manuel Ludueña, a permanent employee and advisor for the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) block in the Córdoba Legislature, has been detained following allegations of aggravated sexual abuse. The investigation involves claims that the abuse occurred repeatedly between 2016 and 2017, targeting one of two adoptive sisters when the victim was 14 years old.

Ludueña surrendered to authorities at the Polo de la Mujer after an initial attempt to locate him at his residence. His defense has rejected the charges, claiming the accusations are politically motivated due to the current electoral context and noting that a previous 2017 investigation did not lead to charges.

The arrest has sparked a political confrontation within the Córdoba Legislature. Facundo Torres, leader of the ruling party, accused the UCR of double standards, noting that the opposition previously demanded strict accountability in similar cases involving government advisors. Matías Gvozdenovich, head of the UCR caucus, defended the party's integrity and responded to the criticisms.
