Córdoba municipal inspector arrested after shooting at residence

Eric Gabriel Silva, a municipal traffic inspector in Córdoba, has been arrested following a shooting at a residence in the Patricios Oeste neighborhood. The attack reportedly stemmed from a dispute over an informal loan. According to reports, a local woman had requested 900,000 pesos with a commitment to repay 4,500,000 pesos in installments; the shooting occurred after a 10-day payment delay.

During the incident, Silva and an accomplice allegedly fired shots at the property, striking a 14-year-old boy in the foot. The victim's mother reported receiving threats prior to and following the attack. Silva faces judicial charges including weapon abuse and assault.

The Municipality of Córdoba has initiated an administrative inquiry and suspended Silva from his duties. While Silva has been a permanent municipal employee since 2016 and was previously considered a correct worker, investigations have revealed a criminal history dating back to 2019. His record includes charges related to robbery with a firearm, domestic violence, weapons possession, and crimes against sexual integrity.
