Córdoba municipality launches €1.86 million school climate‑adaptation works

The Córdoba City Council has approved a tender worth €1,859,798.78 to carry out climate‑adaptation upgrades in 13 public primary schools. The works, divided into six lots, will focus on improving thermal insulation, upgrading electrical and safety systems, and enhancing accessibility and comfort for students. The project is the first phase of a municipal programme that will eventually cover 26 schools in the capital.

Separately, the political group Por Mérida has demanded €11.9 million from the Junta de Extremadura for a range of investments in the regional capital, including the climate‑control of public schools, care for isolated seniors, and completion of social, cultural and sports facilities. The group criticises the regional government's rejection of the funding request and calls for a dialogue to resolve the dispute.
