Córdoba Municipality Launches 'Ser Cordobés' Neighborhood Identity Project

The Córdoba municipal government introduced the "Ser Cordobés" initiative to highlight and preserve the cultural, folkloric and historical identity of each city neighborhood. The programme is built around three pillars – cultural (music, art, gastronomy), folkloric (legends, symbols) and historical (key events, development milestones) – and aims to involve residents, local clubs and community centres in documenting and promoting their own stories.

Pueblo Alberdi was selected as the first area to receive the project’s interventions, which include public‑space improvements, tourism circuits and educational resources. Officials said the goal is to create a lasting, living cultural legacy that strengthens belonging across generations while also generating economic impact for the neighborhoods.

The initiative was presented at La Voz del Interior with participation from municipal secretaries, cultural directors and representatives of local media, emphasizing a collaborative, bottom‑up approach to defining Córdoba’s identity.
