Córdoba officials propose air bridge to mitigate rail disruption

Salvador Fuentes, president of the Diputación de Córdoba, has proposed an air bridge between Córdoba and Madrid to mitigate the economic impact of a rail connection interruption. The disruption follows a recent accident in Urda.

During a meeting with the Confederation of Businessmen of Córdoba (CECO) and tourism sector representatives, officials discussed the consequences of the rail outage. Fuentes expressed concern regarding the reputational damage to the high-speed AVE service and its potential impact on tourism, particularly for the upcoming Christmas season and medium-term travel reservations.

The meeting included the mayor of Córdoba, José María Bellido, and the government delegate of the Junta de Andalucía, Adolfo Molina. Officials are coordinating with the Junta de Andalucía's tourism department to address concerns raised at international events like the World Travel Market in London.
