Córdoba officials seek to boost agro-industry via corporate partnerships

The Governor of Córdoba, Erasmo Zuleta Bechara, and the Minister of Agriculture, Indalecio Dangond, have established a strategic agenda to strengthen the region's agro-industrial sector. The initiative aims to connect local producers with major companies, including PepsiCo, Grupo Nutresa, Grupo BIOS, and La Fazenda, to enhance the commercialization and transformation of raw materials.

Key focus areas for this collaboration include pig farming, animal feed, coconut production, and oil production. Additionally, the partnership will launch pilot projects for sustainable irrigation and livestock involving rural women and youth, alongside aquaculture and fishing programs along the department's coast. The goal is to add value to local production and improve economic opportunities for farming families in the region.
