Córdoba police seize 255 pejerreyes at Dique La Viña

A joint operation by the Departamento Unidades de Alto Riesgo (DUAR) and Policía Ambiental intercepted a boat on Dique La Viña in Córdoba Province. The vessel, manned by two adult men and a 13‑year‑old, was found carrying 255 pejerreyes, far exceeding the legal quota for sport and recreational fishing.

Authorities confiscated the entire catch and the fishing gear, citing violations of Provincial Law 4412, which sets extraction limits to protect the province’s ichthyofauna. The three individuals were detained on site and administrative proceedings for fines and sanctions are pending.
