Córdoba preserves traditional culture and architecture

The city of Córdoba in Andalucía, Spain, maintains a vibrant cultural atmosphere, particularly through its thriving flamenco traditions. While many tourists visit the region primarily to see the Mezquita—a historic mosque featuring a cathedral built within its center—the city's residential back streets offer a more traditional experience.

The narrow, cobbled lanes of old Córdoba are characterized by whitewashed walls designed for shade and natural cooling, brightly painted accents, and historical architectural remnants, such as ancient Roman pillars repurposed as stone bumpers. Despite modern influences, the area retains an evocative atmosphere with remnants of old minaret towers integrated into contemporary structures.
