Córdoba Province funds independent theaters and celebrates local talent

The Government of Córdoba, through the Agencia Córdoba Cultura, opened the 2026 Programme for the Promotion of Independent Theatre Infrastructure, offering up to 57 grants of ARS 3,000,000 each. Applications are accepted online until 21 August and target non‑profit venues that have operated for at least two years, to cover maintenance, equipment and upgrades.

At the same time, the Premios Perfil Córdoba 2026 ceremony honoured a range of Cordobese contributors in culture, science, technology and social projects. Highlights included writer Cristina Bajo receiving the Labor Cultural award, CONICET researcher Pedro Jaureguiberry winning the Science prize, artist Jairo receiving a Lifetime Achievement award, the E+E Foundation being recognized for its prison‑work program, and AI‑agri tech firm Kilimo earning the first technology award. Governor Martín Llaryora addressed the audience, emphasizing the province’s commitment to cultural and innovative development.
