Córdoba Provincial Council extends I+D Talent program with IMIBIC, earmarks up to €200 000
The Provincial Council of Córdoba announced the continuation of the I+D Talent programme, a joint initiative with the Instituto Maimónides de Investigación Biomédica de Córdoba (IMIBIC). President Salvador Fuentes visited the institute and highlighted a newly‑approved €97,865 grant to the Fundación para la Investigación Biomédica de Córdoba (FIBICO), which will fund ten university scholarships of up to six months and four employment contracts of six to seven months, benefiting 14 young researchers.
Fuentes also confirmed a further allocation of €100,000 for the next year, with the intention of increasing total support to €200,000 in future editions. The programme is part of a broader strategy that saw a €400,000 investment in 2025 to create IMIBIC’s Advanced Therapy Clinical Trials Unit, aimed at developing innovative treatments such as CAR‑T. Officials said the funding will strengthen biomedical research, create qualified jobs and reinforce Córdoba’s reputation as a Spanish biomedical hub.
