Córdoba receives 400 billion pesos in financial advance from national government

The Argentine national government has transferred 400 billion pesos to the province of Córdoba as a financial advance. This payment follows a delay from the Ministry of Economy, despite the funds having been authorized a month prior.

Provincial Chief of Staff Manuel Calvo confirmed the arrival of the funds on Monday. While the amount was expected to be delivered in two monthly installments of 200 billion pesos, the national government deposited the full authorized maximum. These funds will be distributed to municipalities and communes through the Federal Fund for Works.

The advance carries an annual interest rate of 15 percent, which the province considers low by Argentine economic standards. The total amount must be repaid by 2026, with the federal government using federal tax sharing resources as a guarantee for automatic collection. The province is currently negotiating to repay a portion of the funds in 2025 and the remainder in 2027.
