Córdoba to host 2026-27 FIH Hockey Pro League opening matches

The Estadio Soledad García at the Polo Deportivo Kempes in Córdoba, Argentina, will host the opening matches of the 2026-27 FIH Hockey Pro League season from December 8 to 13. The event marks the beginning of a global tournament consisting of 144 matches played in various cities worldwide.

The competition follows an accumulated points system, where the team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned champion. In the women's division, Argentina, Great Britain, and China will compete. The men's division will feature Argentina, Great Britain, and France.

Argentina's national teams will participate as major contenders: the women's team, Las Leonas, enters as recent world champions, while the men's team, Los Leones, follows a recent bronze medal performance at the World Cup. The selection of Córdoba as the host site follows over a year of infrastructure improvements, including a complete renovation of the hockey pitch and official certification of the playing surface to meet international technical standards.
