Argentina tourism sees growth in Patagonia and Córdoba during long weekend

Tourism in Argentina saw significant movement during the recent long weekend, characterized by high occupancy in specific regions despite shifts in consumer behavior. In Patagonia, Bariloche approached 100% occupancy in its urban center, driven by snowfall and the National Snow Festival. Ushuaia also reported strong performance with 81% occupancy.

In Córdoba province, the number of tourists increased by over 13% compared to the same period in 2025. This movement generated an estimated economic impact of $25 billion pesos across lodging, gastronomy, and services. The Calamuchita region showed high demand, with La Cumbrecita reaching 82% occupancy and Villa General Belgrano seeing 97% occupancy in categorized establishments.

Data indicates a trend toward shorter trips, last-minute bookings, and increased local tourism. While visitor numbers rose, some reports noted that real spending per tourist decreased due to shorter stays and more selective consumption.
