CRE suspends contribution certificate returns for two years
The Cooperativa Rural de Electrificación R. L. (CRE) has announced a partial reform of its organic statutes following a meeting of its Cooperative Parliament on September 26. The reform aims to facilitate new strategic alliances with both national and international institutions.
As part of these measures, the institution decided to temporarily suspend the return of contribution certificates for a period of two years. This decision, supported by Article 20 of the statutes, is intended to prevent capital flight and protect the cooperative's liquidity.
José Alejandro Durán, President of the Board of Administration, stated that the measure is necessary to ensure financial viability and maintain high-quality electrical services and social responsibility programs. General Manager Mario Carmelo Paz Durán described the suspension as a precautionary economic measure to manage cash flow while maintaining a solid economic and social patrimony.
