Creality launches K3 3D printer with rapid nozzle-switching technology
Creality has launched the pre-sale of its new flagship K3 3D printer in China, priced at approximately 4,599 yuan (roughly 613 euros). The device features a proprietary KliTek system designed to address the inefficiencies of traditional multi-color 3D printing.
Unlike standard single-nozzle printers that must flush filament to change colors, the K3 utilizes four independent channels and nozzles. This allows the machine to switch between nozzles in approximately five seconds, with a full color change taking less than 15 seconds. Creality claims this technology can reduce printing times for multi-color objects by up to 80 percent and decrease filament waste by about 85 percent.
The K3 is built on a high-rigidity aluminum frame and uses a pin-coupling mechanism for precise XYZ-axis positioning. It supports various nozzle diameters ranging from 0.2 to 0.8 mm and is optimized for TPU materials and CMYK full-color printing. The printer includes 37 high-precision sensors, 12 of which are dedicated to monitoring the nozzle-switching process.
