Cream legacy continues with Sons of Cream performance

The legendary rock trio Cream featured a shared vocal dynamic between bassist Jack Bruce and guitarist Eric Clapton. While Bruce is often considered the primary vocalist due to his powerful, bluesy range and songwriting contributions, Clapton also provided lead vocals on several tracks, contributing a more melodic style to the band’s sound.

Continuing this musical legacy, the group Sons of Cream is scheduled to perform at the Boulton Center for the Performing Arts in Bay Shore. The ensemble is composed of the descendants of the original members: drummer Kofi Baker (son of Ginger Baker), bassist-vocalist Malcolm Bruce (son of Jack Bruce), and guitarist Rob Johnson. Describing themselves as a “legacy band” rather than a tribute act, the members aim to honor original arrangements while incorporating their own improvisational directions.
