Creamfields festival site yields large drug haul during police searches
Cheshire Police have uncovered a significant quantity of illegal drugs buried within the Creamfields festival grounds in Daresbury. The discovery occurred during pre-event searches ahead of the annual dance music festival, which expects up to 80,000 attendees this bank holiday weekend.
The seized items include Class A, B, and C drugs, specifically over 200 canisters of nitrous oxide and large bags containing ketamine and ecstasy tablets. Authorities noted that individuals have attempted to conceal these substances by burying them at the site months in advance.
Superintendent Andy Blizard stated that the police maintain a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs at the event. Specialist search teams will continue to comb the grounds, and officers will maintain a visible presence during the festival to prevent crime and disorder.
