Creative Art Student Society raises $2,000 for Spokane wildfire relief
The Creative Art Student Society (CASS), a nonprofit composed of ten high school students from Mercer Island and other Eastside cities, has raised $2,000 to support families affected by the Spokane wildfires.
Through the sale of handcrafted wax tablets and soaps at the Arts at the Market event on August 30, as well as via online orders, the group will donate all proceeds to the Spokane H.O.M.E. Starts Here Fund. CASS members, including Mercer Island High School senior and co-president Isabelle Chung and sophomore treasurer Isabelle Min, stated that the wildfire crisis motivated their decision to direct their fundraising efforts toward disaster relief.
