Total War: Warhammer 40,000 closed beta announced for 2026

SEGA Europe and Creative Assembly announced at the PC Gaming Show 2026 that their upcoming title Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will run a closed beta later this year, with registration now open on the official Total War website.

New gameplay footage revealed large‑scale battles featuring factions such as the Astra Militarum, Orks, Space Marines, Chaos and others, showcasing planet‑level strategy, orbital bombardments and massive real‑time engagements. No official launch date has been set, but the studio said further beta details and campaign information will be released in the coming months.

The announcement marks the franchise’s first entry set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, expanding the Total War series beyond its historical and fantasy titles.
