Creative Assembly announces Total War: Warhammer 40,000 for consoles

Creative Assembly has officially announced Total War: Warhammer 40,000, marking a significant shift for the franchise by bringing the series to consoles for the first time. The game will be available on Windows PC via Steam, as well as natively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The announcement, which took place during the 2025 Game Awards, featured actor David Harbour, known for ‘Stranger Things’, who will provide the voice for a currently undisclosed character. While a specific release date has not yet been set, the game is confirmed to launch with four playable factions.

Further gameplay details will be showcased during Gamescom, where a public hands-on demo featuring Space Marines will be available. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream of the ‘Alpha Strike’ demo is scheduled for August 26, 2026, to demonstrate the combat system and how elite units function within the Total War engine.
