Creative Glass LAB international event to be held in Belgrade and Paraćin
The Creative Glass LAB international manifestation will take place from October 15 to 18 in Belgrade and Paraćin, Serbia. The event serves as an homage to the former Glass Shaping Symposium held in Paraćin until the early 1990s, aiming to preserve the former Yugoslavia glassmaking heritage through an innovative format.
In Belgrade, the program includes the ‘Dialogues on Creative Glass’ conference and the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’ exhibition at the Czech Center. The conference will be opened by Jan Bondy, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Belgrade, and Jiří Ulvr, Deputy Governor of the Liberec Region. Discussions will focus on the traditions and international significance of Czech glassmaking and the intersection of industry tradition and innovation.
From October 16 to 18, international residencies will be held in Paraćin at Grza. The event brings together domestic and foreign artists and glass experts, including Kalina Banka, Iona Stelea, Katerina Handlova, and Jakub Berdych Karpelis, alongside major glass producers such as Lasvit, Bomma, Ruckl, and Brokis. Public workshops will offer hands-on experience with techniques like glass collage, engraving, grinding, photo-transfer, and cyanotype.
