Komerční banka reports mixed Q3 results amid loan growth

Komerční banka reported its financial results for the first three quarters of the year, showing a 2.8 percent decrease in net profit to approximately 13.2 billion CZK. However, operating profit rose by 5.2 percent to 15.5 billion CZK, and total revenues increased by 1.8 percent to nearly 28 billion CZK.

The bank experienced significant growth in lending, with the total volume of loans provided increasing by 11.1 percent year-on-year to 964.6 billion CZK. Notably, mortgage lending saw a substantial increase of 54.4 percent, reaching 82.9 billion CZK. Consumer loans also grew by 7.8 percent to 42.9 billion CZK.

Total deposits rose by 6.7 percent to 1.13 trillion CZK. CEO Jan Juchelka noted that while the bank benefits from high asset quality and low risk costs, market conditions characterized by lower margins on key products have prevented these positive developments from translating into higher revenue growth.

In a separate strategic move, the bank has also introduced a promotional reduction in interest rates for personal loans, lowering rates to as low as 4.69 percent for loans up to 2.5 million CZK, valid until the end of November.
