Genoa announces 391 million euro public works program for 2027-2029

The Municipality of Genoa has adopted a three-year public works program for 2027-2029, totaling 391 million euros. The plan prioritizes the maintenance of municipal heritage, infrastructure, schools, and hydrogeological risk prevention.

For the first year, approximately 75 million euros are earmarked for projects that could begin as early as 2027. Key allocations include 30 million euros for urban regeneration and energy efficiency, 29 million euros for extraordinary maintenance of the territory, and 13.4 million euros for the safety of municipal buildings. Additional funds are designated for school buildings, sports facilities, and the maintenance of cemeteries and bridges.

Significant emphasis is placed on territorial security, with interventions planned for slopes and waterways to manage water flow and maintain retaining walls, bridges, embankments, and drainage networks. The program also covers road paving, sidewalks, and fire prevention measures.
