Crema citizens protest proposed temporary bridge over Serio river

In Crema, the 'No al ponte provvisorio' committee met with the municipal government to express opposition to a proposed temporary bridge over the Serio river between via Cremona and via IV Novembre. The group, which has gathered over 2,000 signatures, argues that the project would devastate a natural area and a biotopo inhabited by foxes, birds, and wolves.

Opponents also raised concerns regarding traffic congestion, noting that new traffic lights at the bridge entrances would slow movement in already busy areas. The municipal administration indicated that a formal project is expected by late October, with construction likely not beginning until next spring. The estimated cost for assembly alone is 1.5 million euros, with additional costs required for dismantling the structure after its 180-day period of use.

Technical and environmental verifications, including authorization from Aipo, are still pending for the project.
