Crema municipal landfill faces mismanagement allegations

The Fratelli d’Italia council group has raised alarms regarding the mismanagement of the municipal landfill on via Colombo in Crema. They claim that critical issues remain unresolved a year after they were first identified.

Specific grievances include a broken magnetic card reader that has allowed uncontrolled access to the site since August 14, alongside a malfunctioning entrance barrier. This has reportedly enabled non-residents to dispose of waste, including special materials, at the facility. The group also cited a chronic shortage of personnel, leading to a lack of supervision and assistance for users.

Safety concerns were also highlighted regarding the mechanical arm used to transfer waste. The group noted that these operations often occur without isolating the maneuvering area, potentially exposing citizens to risks from falling materials. Additionally, they reported that the facility's opening hours are inconsistent and frequently not respected.
