Italy celebrates traditional San Rocco festivities

Various regions across Italy are observing traditional festivities and religious celebrations dedicated to San Rocco, the patron saint invoked against pestilence.

In the Crema area, towns like Ostiano, Dovera, and Pescarolo maintain long-standing customs, including gastronomic evenings and processions. In Linguaglossa, the community celebrates with a week of religious services, concerts, and cultural events. In Desio, the parish of San Giovanni Battista is organizing festivities where proceeds will support the construction of a well in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Other regional activities include a pilgrimage from Ruffano to the Sanctuary of San Rocco in Torrepaduli, and a flea market in Aurisina held in conjunction with the saint's feast day. Additionally, a night trekking event is scheduled in Valmorea to observe the sunrise at Colle di San Maffeo.
