Cremona hosts inaugural La Mezza half marathon

The inaugural edition of La Mezza di Cremona (LMC) took place on September 21, 2026, drawing approximately 2,000 runners. The event featured three distinct races: a 21.097 km FIDAL-sanctioned half marathon, a 10.2 km Stracremona, and a 6 km Family Run.

In the competitive half marathon, Patrick Francia of Atl. Reggio ASD secured first place with a time of 1h08'00". Luca Cantoni finished second, trailing by 50 seconds. In the women's category, Giovanna Epis of C.S. Carabinieri Sez. Atletica won with a time of 1h13'36".

The event included a minute of silence to honor Sandro Mazzola, as directed by CONI, and a tribute to Sebastiano Gianò, a FIDAL Milano runner who passed away in Sofia in October 2025. The races moved from the city center toward the Po river and back through historic squares, supported by nearly 200 volunteers.
