Cremona man sentenced to six years for serving as lookout in robbery

A 38‑year‑old man was sentenced to six years in prison and fined €8,000 after being convicted of acting as a lookout during a violent robbery of a 73‑year‑old businesswoman in Cremona, Italy. The attack occurred on 9 October when the victim was opening her front door; a second assailant struck her, breaking a rib and causing a head injury, before stealing a €40,000 watch and €3,300 in cash. The convicted man waited in a car to facilitate the perpetrators’ escape. He had been arrested in February following a four‑month manhunt and was later linked to the case after the material perpetrator was captured in Dublin, Ireland. The victim, who had already received compensation, did not join the civil trial. The sentence reflects the court’s decision to apply a reduced term under an abbreviated trial procedure.

The judgment also ordered the defendant to pay the €8,000 fine and confirmed the earlier custodial order that placed him in Biella prison.
