Cremona-Mantova-Pavia Chamber of Commerce reports economic growth in 2025

The 2025 Economic Provincial Report from the Cremona-Mantova-Pavia Chamber of Commerce indicates economic resilience across southern Lombardy, despite a complex international landscape marked by geopolitical tensions and tariff barriers. The region recorded 107,917 registered businesses, with 96,641 active units, representing a 0.1% increase in active enterprises—outperforming both the national average (-0.4%) and the Lombardy regional average (-0.2%).

Manufacturing showed a strengthening trend in the second half of the year. Mantova led with an average annual production increase of 4.1%, followed by Cremona at 2.0%, and Pavia, which saw a recovery in the second semester with a 0.6% increase.

The agrifood sector remains a vital pillar for the three provinces. Cremona and Mantova lead in dairy and swine production, while Pavia excels in rice and viticulture, particularly in the Oltrepò Pavese area. The report also notes a structural shift in business legal forms, with a rise in capital companies and a decline in partnerships and sole proprietorships.
