Cremona to host study meetings on castle heritage and restoration

The Istituto Italiano dei Castelli (Lombardy Section) will host two study meetings in Cremona on May 14 and May 21, 2026. Held at Palazzo Affaitati, the events aim to update the knowledge of the province's stratified defensive structures and fortified buildings.

The first session will focus on research published over the last quarter-century and how the understanding of castle heritage relates to urban, rural, and landscape contexts. The second session will address significant restoration projects, emphasizing economic, environmental, and landscape sustainability.
