Cremona celebrates culinary and musical traditions with salami violin
During the Festa del Salame in Cremona, a massive violin sculpture made entirely of approximately 100 kg of Cà dell’Ora salami was unveiled in the Giardini di Piazza Roma. Standing 2.5 meters tall and 1 meter wide, the installation serves as a tribute to the city's dual heritage of fine charcuterie and its world-renowned luthiery tradition, famously associated with Antonio Stradivari.
As part of the gastronomic festival running from October 9 to 11, students from the Istituto Alberghiero Luigi Einaudi sliced and distributed the salami violin to visitors for a free tasting. The event, promoted by local commerce and agricultural associations, aims to celebrate the intersection of Cremona's culinary and musical identities.
