Crespo hosts Avicultura Marathon with 700 participants

The Avicultura Marathon took place in Crespo, Argentina, as part of the National Aviculture Festival. Organized by the Municipality of Crespo and the Crespo National Aviculture Civil Association, the event drew approximately 700 participants for both a 10-kilometer competitive race and a 5-kilometer recreational walk.

Among the participants, 61-year-old volunteer firefighter Jorge Ladner drew attention by completing the 5-kilometer recreational course while wearing full structural protective gear. His equipment, which included a helmet, jacket, pants, boots, gloves, and an autonomous breathing apparatus, weighed over 22 kilograms. Ladner completed the distance despite temperatures reaching nearly 30 degrees Celsius.

Local officials, including Mayor Marcelo Cerutti, described the event as a celebration of sport and healthy habits. The marathon featured various running groups, clubs, and families, with spectators gathering at Parque Del Centenario and the Lake Amphitheater.
