Crested Cranes face Zambia in Olympic qualifying return leg
The Uganda Senior Women’s National Team, known as the Crested Cranes, is set to face Zambia’s Copper Queens in the return leg of the 2028 CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers. The match will take place on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.
Uganda enters the fixture with a 2-1 advantage following the first leg held at Hamz Stadium in Kampala. A win or a draw would allow the Crested Cranes to progress to the third round of the qualifiers, where they would potentially face the winner of the matchup between Mauritius and Ghana.
Assistant Head Coach Collins Ahumuza stated that the team intends to play for a victory in Zambia rather than merely defending their current lead. She noted that the team is prepared to adapt to the natural grass surface at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, despite having played on artificial turf in the first leg. Team captain Shadia Nankya expressed confidence in the squad's preparations and called for continued support from the Ugandan public.
