Crete awarded FDI ‘SmileGrand 2026’ for school oral health program

The Crete Region has been awarded the inaugural ‘SmileGrand 2026’ prize by the FDI World Dental Federation. This international recognition honors the region's School Oral Health and Prevention Program, which utilizes a Mobile Dental Unit to provide direct access to dental care, information, and early diagnosis for children and youth across Crete.

Crete Governor Stavros Arnautakis met with Thanasis Devliotis, President of the Hellenic Dental Federation, to discuss the ongoing collaboration between the regional administration and dental associations. The initiative focuses on promoting oral health through preventative measures and free dental services within school communities.
