Crete development and infrastructure projects discussed by Greek officials

Greek Development Minister Takis Theodorakakis met with New Democracy officials in Heraklion to discuss the economic prospects of Crete, inflation, and regional development. During the meeting, Theodorakakis emphasized the importance of political stability and noted that the government is working to mitigate the impact of global inflation on consumers.

In parliamentary discussions, former Minister Lefteris Avgenakis addressed the progress of major infrastructure projects in Crete. Updates were provided regarding the Northern Cretan Axis (BOAK), including the dual tunnel at Kako Oros, with progress on the Chersonissos–Neapoli section exceeding 40%. The projects, which include the Southern Cretan Axis (NOAK) and the new Kastelli International Airport, are being treated as interdependent infrastructures essential for the island's balanced growth.
