Crete experiences widespread power outage from Chania to Heraklion

A widespread power outage occurred in Crete, affecting multiple regions from Chania to Heraklion. The disruption, which lasted approximately 10 to 15 minutes, caused significant local disturbances.

The outage resulted in dozens of people becoming trapped in elevators and enclosed spaces. The Greek Fire Service responded to approximately 30 emergency calls to perform rescues. As of now, the exact cause of the sudden electrical failure remains undetermined.
