Crete fires isolated as north coast declared safe for tourists
Wildfires have burned across the southern part of Crete, Greece, but most have been extinguished. The only active blaze remains near the Preveli pine forest in the south. Viajar Tours, a Portuguese travel operator, says there is no risk to tourists staying on the island’s north coast, where its partnered hotels are located, and that all scheduled departures continue unchanged. The company is monitoring the situation with its local agent and will issue updates if conditions evolve.
Travel agencies are advised that excursions and services in the northern region are operating normally, and the island remains a safe destination for visitors.
