Crete honors Saint Titus with religious services

Religious celebrations were held across Crete to honor Saint Titus, the first Bishop of Crete. In Heraklion, Archbishop Eugenios of Crete led services at the Holy Temple, marking the occasion with a commemoration of the Christian residents of the Great Castle who were killed in 1898. The Archbishop emphasized the importance of preserving the island's spiritual and cultural identity.

In Chania, festivities also honored Saint Titus and marked the name day of the new Metropolitan of Kissamos and Apokoronas, Titus. The celebrations included liturgical services attended by various bishops and clergy. This year's feast coincides with the 60th anniversary of the return of Saint Titus's relics from Venice to Crete in 1966.
