Crete hosts upcoming cultural and environmental events

Various cultural and environmental events are scheduled to take place in Crete. On August 13, 2026, singer Zoi Liantraki will perform her show ‘Aniko mono se mena’ at the courtyard of the Holy Church of Agios Konstantinos and Eleni in Agios Nikolaos. The performance, which includes Nefeli Antoniou, will feature songs from Liantraki’s discography alongside classics of Greek music.

On August 16, an environmental protection event titled ‘Sea Turtle Celebration’ will be held at Stavros Akrotiri, Chania. Organized by the Stavros Environmental Protection Association (SEA) in collaboration with several ecological and astronomical groups, the event aims to raise awareness about the Caretta Caretta sea turtle habitat. Activities include educational games, an outdoor painting exhibition by primary school students, and the symbolic placement of wooden information signs regarding local flora, fauna, and archaeological sites.
