Crete police report 711 arrests in September

In September, the General Regional Police Directorate of Crete reported 711 arrests across the island. The highest number of arrests involved drug law violations, totaling 101 individuals.

Other significant arrest categories included 74 cases of domestic violence, 74 cases involving immigration law violations, 66 for weapons law violations, 52 for livestock theft, and 46 for traffic violations. Police also dismantled four criminal organizations: two involved in thefts in Chania and Heraklion, and two involved in drug trafficking in Rethymno and Lasithi.

Law enforcement also investigated one homicide and one attempted homicide, alongside 35 cases of fraud and forgery. Seizures during the month included over 14 kilograms of cannabis, 842 cannabis plants, and 123 grams of cocaine.
