Crevedia cannabis plantation discovery leads to arrests

Two 37-year-old men have been placed in preventive detention for 30 days following the discovery of a large illegal cannabis plantation in a forest near Crevedia, Dâmbovița County.

Authorities from DIICOT and specialized police units caught the suspects in flagrante delicto on September 18, 2026, while they were tending to the plants. The plantation consisted of 24 cannabis plants in various stages of development, with some reaching heights of between 2 and 4 meters. Investigators also seized spraying pumps, biostimulators, and liquid fertilizers used to maintain the crop.

Subsequent searches at the suspects' residences yielded approximately 500 grams of cannabis, an amount of amphetamine, a grinder, cash, and other evidence. The investigation indicates the suspects purchased seeds in April 2026 and had been watering and fertilizing the forest plantation from May through September.
