Spanish municipalities approve local projects and infrastructure upgrades

Municipal councils across Spain approved a series of local projects in recent plenary sessions. The Borriol town council ratified multiple budget items, including credit allocations and a motion for senior‑citizen facilities. In Valdáliga, the regional education department and the municipal government agreed on an 80‑20 financing split to fund a new patio cover and replace school gates at the local primary school.

The Albacete city council unanimously backed an institutional declaration to reopen the Chinchilla‑Murcia‑Cartagena railway line, while also approving a modernization plan for the city’s autocaravan services area. Crevillent’s council gave the green light to a €4.5 million school expansion at the CEIP Párroco Francisco Mas and incorporated the agrarian sector into its Economic and Social Council. The Basque government advanced construction of a new €8.5 million primary‑secondary school in Ea, set to serve neighboring municipalities.

In Almería, officials launched the massive “El Toyo 2” urban‑development project covering three million square metres of new residential‑tourist land. Ferrol’s council withdrew a proposal to locate a skatepark in a historic park after opposition arguments, opting to seek an alternative site. Granada’s council approved a special urban plan to expand and modernise the historic “El Refugio” residence for the elderly, preserving its heritage while increasing capacity.
