SpaceX Crew-12 astronauts splash down after 237 days on ISS

The SpaceX Crew-12 mission successfully splashed down in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Los Angeles on Thursday, October 8, 2026, marking the end of a 237-day mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

The four-person international crew included NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, European Space Agency (ESA) astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev. During their nearly eight-month stay, the crew completed 3,792 orbits, traveled over 100 million miles, and conducted several spacewalks. Notably, Adenot became the first French woman to perform a spacewalk.

The mission originally launched in February to replace the Crew-11 team, which had to be evacuated due to a medical emergency involving commander Mike Fincke. Following the splashdown, the crew underwent medical screenings on a recovery vessel before being transported to NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston for rehabilitation.
