Criacao Shinjuku and ADDS implement inclusive stadium initiatives

The non-profit organization ADDS, in partnership with the soccer club Criacao Shinjuku, implemented inclusive measures at the MUFG Stadium (National Stadium) during a JFL match on September 27. The initiative aimed to create a universal stadium environment for spectators with sensory sensitivities, such as those on the autism spectrum.

Key features included the operation of sensory rooms, which provided private spaces and active areas equipped with tools like Yogibo and Snoezelen light environments to help manage sensory input. ADDS staff and volunteers provided visual support tools, including player photo boards and rule explanations. Additionally, a pilot food and merchandise delivery service was introduced to assist families who find navigating crowds difficult.

In a separate community engagement effort, students from Clark Memorial International High School participated in the Shinjuku Children's Festival organized by Criacao Shinjuku. The students managed interactive booths, including soccer boccia, which combines soccer with para-sports elements to ensure accessibility for all ages and physical abilities.
