Criciúma car accident kills two pastors and injures four

A violent head-on collision between two vehicles in Criciúma, Santa Catarina, resulted in the deaths of a pastoral couple on Wednesday night. The victims have been identified as Cristiano Batista and Sandra Constante, both 49 years old. The couple served as pastors at a church in the Mineira Nova neighborhood.

The accident occurred around 10:00 PM in the Vila Macarini neighborhood. According to the Military Highway Police (PMRv), the crash involved a Volkswagen Gol and a T5 vehicle. The impact was followed by an explosion and fire that completely destroyed both automobiles.

In addition to the two fatalities, four other people were seriously injured, including a 9-year-old girl. The occupants of the T5 included a 29-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman, and the aforementioned child. One passenger from the T5 was treated by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) after exiting the vehicle prior to the full destruction.
