Criciúma supermarket investigated for dumping meat in river
Authorities in Criciúma, Brazil, are investigating a supermarket for the illegal disposal of over 18 kilograms of meat into the Linha Anta River. The incident was reported by a resident who filmed a supermarket vehicle discarding bags near the watercourse.
Following the report, the local Civil Defense used a drone to survey the area, successfully locating three bags of decomposing pork within the riverbed. The operation was conducted in coordination with the Municipal Foundation for the Environment of Criciúma (Famcri).
Legal proceedings are underway as the Civil Defense finalizes an official report. The establishment faces potential administrative processes and fines for the environmental violation.
