Cricket: Richard Parks backs Nabi as Sikandar Raza to lead Zimbabwe

Preparations are underway for an upcoming tri-series in the UAE involving Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Zimbabwe.

Afghanistan head coach Richard Parks expressed strong support for veteran player Mohammad Nabi, stating that Nabi still has much to contribute to the team in shorter formats. Despite recently missing selection for the T20 squad for the tri-series, Parks praised Nabi’s professionalism, discipline, and physical conditioning, noting his desire to continue working with the experienced cricketer.

In Zimbabwe, Sikandar Raza will captain the ODI side during the tri-series due to Richard Ngarava being unable to play because of a back injury. The Zimbabwean squad features several new faces, including wicketkeeper-batsman Tafadzwa Tsiga and leg-spinner Vincent Masaseka, both of whom are expected to make their debuts. The series serves as a precursor to Zimbabwe’s upcoming matches against Afghanistan in both T20 and Test formats.
