BuzzFeed Q2 2026 Revenue Falls 22% as Advertising Slumps 23%

BuzzFeed, Inc. reported second‑quarter 2026 revenue of $36.3 million, a 21.8% decline from the same quarter a year earlier. Advertising revenue, the largest line, dropped 23.4% to $17.299 million, while commerce revenue fell 31.4% to $8.986 million. Content revenue decreased 6.5% to $10.003 million, but for the six‑month period ending June 30 it rose 16% to $17.483 million.

The company also disclosed that responsibility for selling its advertising inventory has been transferred to Allen Media Group, the private firm controlled by chairman Byron Allen. No financial terms of the sales‑representation agreement were provided. Operating losses tripled in the quarter and adjusted EBITDA swung from a positive figure to a negative one.

These results reflect a broad contraction across all revenue streams, with the most severe drop in commerce earnings, and mark the first full quarter under Allen Media Group’s control.
